Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Cbt) Workshop
Course Details:
Duration: 6.0 hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Facilitator: Noah Lazar, Ph.D., C.Psych. Date: Thursday May 6, 2021
Course Description:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective and proven psychological treatment to reduce anxiety and depression, and to help people return, as much as possible, to their regular lives. Research suggests that our thoughts, emotions and behaviours are interrelated, so that if you change one, you can change the other two. From the cognitive perspective, thoughts are not facts, and how you feel is based on how you think about these situations. The focus of CBT is to help individuals develop strategies to identify these thought and beliefs, as well as to modify them. Changes in behaviour are also an important aspect in CBT to help reduce and eliminate anxiety, depression and worry.
This workshop will help you develop awareness of CBT theories and practices, and learn tools to help manage anxiety and depression. You will learn to recognize individuals in psychological distress, and increase your ability to manage these situations, effectively and with confidence, to provide support and guidance to your consumers.
